Grouping structure

We use a grouping scheme to prioritise applications.

Applicants must be eligible and qualify to join.  If an application is accepted it will be placed in one of three groups, A, B, or C. The table below shows the Grouping structure.

 

GROUP A

Applicants who seek affordable accommodation as a result of statutory requirements or those who are at a serious risk to their health, safety and well-being.   

 

 

 

  • Statutory homeless and owed the full housing duty by Bath and North East Somerset Council under s.193 (3) (65(2)) 
  • Under occupying social housing by two or more bedrooms
  • Statutorily overcrowded
  • In urgent medical, welfare or hardship need
  • Living in dangerous housing
  • A social housing tenant needing sheltered housing
  • Granted discretionary housing priority

 

 

GROUP B

Applicants who have a medium level need for accommodation. 

 

 

  • Statutorily homeless, but not owed the full housing duty by Bath and North East Somerset Council under s.193 (3) (65(2))
  • Under occupying social housing by one bedroom
  • Over crowded (2 or more bedrooms short)
  • In high medical, welfare or hardship need
  • Needing to move from supported housing
  • Given prevention of homeless priority
  • Given discretionary housing priority

 

GROUP C

People who do not qualify for Groups A or B

 

 

 

  • Wanting to move but have a low need
