Welcome to Homesearch
Homesearch is the register for social housing in Bath and North East Somerset. Properties are advertised weekly on on this website.
Applicants choose which properties they are interested in and can 'bid' online, by text or phone. Demand is high and some people have to wait years before getting a tenancy. We can give you advice about other Housing Options.
Tenancy Fraud is unlawful and in some cases is also a criminal offence. Under section 171 of part 6 of the Housing Act 1996 it is an offence to provide false information or withhold information relevant to a housing application; this could result in a fine of up to £5,000. In partnership with local registered housing providers, we are committed to identifying and dealing with Tenancy Fraud. Fraud may include giving false information or withholding information to obtain housing as well as sub-letting of properties.

Changes to Housing Benefit
From April 2013 social housing tenants who are of working age wil get less help if their home is considered to have more bedrooms than they need. If you won't be able to make up the difference in rent yourself talk to your landlord about getting help. And remember that Homesearch gives priority to people who need to move to a smaller home. An information leaflet about these changes is here
