We have now started to advertise private rented properties on the Homesearch website so that local accredited private landlords and lettings agents can advertise their available accommodation. These landlords will consider people who are receiving Local Housing Allowance (Housing benefit).
You can view the available properties by clicking on the Property search tab at the top of the page and selecting the 'Private Rented' option. You do not need to log in to view these properties and you do not need to 'bid'. If you see a private rented property advertised that you are interested in you should contact the landlord directly on the phone number shown on the advert. The Homesearch Team will not be able to help you with any queries about these properties.
If you have logged into Homesearch before viewing the privately rented properties you may see the message 'you are not eligible for this property'. Please disregard this message and contact the landlord if you are interested. This only applies to privately rented properties.
The Council's role in private rented property is advertising only. Please contact the landlord directly with any queries regarding the properties advertised. The Homesearch Team cannot verify the existence, property details, suitability or condition of private rented properties being advertised nor can they accept any liability for any damage, accident, or injury which may occur due to your direct or indirect use of the advertising service.
